On 25 May the Hansard Society hosted the hustings for the Lord Speaker in the Robing Room in the House of Lords.

The candidates - Lord Cormack, Lord Fowler and Baroness Garden - were each given eight minutes to present their manifestos in front of a packed audience of Peers. The speeches were followed by a question and answer session, during which Peers were given the opportunity to challenge each of the candidates on their plans for the role.
